Merry Christmas

From our home to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

For some they are spending their first Christmas without a family member, for some there is not enough money to go around, for others there is despair over the health of a loved one – whatever the circumstances of our lives at present I hope there can be joy found in a special day spent with family and friends. And for the coming year… may there be less stress, more peace, good health, an abundance of love and some nice memories made.

Love and peace be with you all

Wendy and Roger

Thankyou to Pauline (The Contented Crafter)

🙂 🙂 A:) A lovely wee package arrived in my mail box this morning – a selection of greeting cards I won from the Contented Crafter. (This lovely lady had put more in than I actually won (and decided upon!) and I am rapt with them!

Pauline is very talented, has a wonderful blog and an Etsy Shop, please do pay her a visit and check out her lovely art.

A great big thank you Pauline, they are very special and I am not sure I will be giving any away!!

What people eat in different countries around the world.

What people eat in different countries around the world.

Seeing it like this puts our grocery buying habits in “developed” countries into perspective doesn’t it?! Much of our diet could be grown in our own back yards as done in other countries, or bought at local markets. Some of these pictures are just plain scary, don’t you think?! From the book What the World Eats by Peter Menzel (thank you to the person who supplied the source of these photos 🙂 )

The only cleaning liquid I use

The only cleaning liquid I use

Is malt vinegar with a small squirt of organic detergent.

I tried white vinegar and baking soda but for the harder areas eg soap scum on bath, this just meant hard scrubbing. I made this a few months back when I had run out of white vinegar and converted.

It’s cheap, works very well and is chemical free.
