One man’s trash is another’s treasure.

I love home. I love homemaking. I also love old, simple, charming. And I have never had alot of money. So thrift stores, garage sales and online auctions etc have been where I have bought the treasures that make my home a place I love to be. I can spend hours just wandering around markets looking for interesting bits and pieces, it is my relaxation and I love a bargain. This brings me joy ๐Ÿ™‚

Most of these below were bought at separate times, just collected over the years. The most I paid was $6 for the largest one.ImageImageThe desk these sit on cost $20 at a thrift shop and I just gave it a light sand and oil. Most of the pieces on it I have had for years and I don’t think anything cost me more than $1.

Building a home is a work of love I think. And it can be any type of home we wish it to be, it expresses who we are. Me, I am a second hand Rose and wouldn’t want to be any other way ๐Ÿ™‚ I get alot of pleasure from finding old treasures and giving them a new place where their beauty can be shown off.

  1. Thrift stores are the best way to save money, I’ve never tried online auctions. I introduced my neighbor this past summer to my favorite thrift shop in town they still continue to rave about the name brand set of sheets they purchases for $1.

I agree I am cheap lol and I find it much mire entertaining to find a treasure among st the rubble. I have always said even if I won the lottery I would still live frugally it gives me a feeling of satisfaction and contentment

    • So would I!! I am not stingy by any means, just see no need to spend more money than I need to on anything. I love my treasure hunting, it’s all new to me and different from mainstream – and I can afford it, no credit cards required ๐Ÿ™‚
